As men the divine masculine resides within us all. I did not feel at home in my body until I had my first encounter with true masculinity. I had been at a 5 day retreat, the kind that cracks your heart open and reveals your soul.
On day 3 we got to experience a land wander, guided by native Americans. I did not know I would wander upon my masculine essence. After walking a couple miles I sat under a tall white tree, the kind that looks ancient and wise. I sat in silence for what seemed like an eternity. As I blinked my eyes open the sun shined down with a relentless heat, penetrating me with warmth and comfort.
A feeling wrapped around me that was strange but familiar, like arriving home after a long journey. I became what I can only describe as a smiling mountain. I was grounded and powerful at my core, but playful and passionate in my essence. I loved everything, but needed nothing. A stillness and peace resonated within my soul that I can only describe as the divine masculine.
